This lovely Guatemalan offering is named for the country’s national tree, the Ceiba. In early Mayan and Mesoamerican cultures, the Ceiba symbolized the connection between land and sky. The Ceiba lot from Huehuetenango is a community coffee, investing in sustainable sourcing to benefit a large group of producers.. After the leaf rust epidemic several years ago, Huehuetenango is still recovering and Unitrade’s support of producers has been crucial to keeping family farms in operation. Coffee from the mountain communities around Huehuetenango is specifically selected for its fruity profile. We believe the Huehuetenango terroir is clear in the profile of this cup. Not only is this the perfect coffee for the season, but has an ever-changing cup profile as it continues to cool. Red grape, plum, apricot, creamy milk chocolate, lightly spiced toffee… we love how easy it is to drink, but how much there is to discover.
We taste: Juicy red fruit, pineapple, lemon meringue, milk chocolate syrup, creamy sweet-toned body
