Description
Our trip to our partners at El Vergel in Colombia last October was eye-opening. Aside from the experimentations we’ve been able to try in processing with coffees like Marta Rubi Genius or the previously released koji-processed pink bourbon, we also have experimentation in all sorts of varieties grown on the farm and farms of their neighbors. When we first saw and tried this SL-28, a variety more commonly found in Kenya, we were excited about its potential with the Colombian terroir over the coming years. This coffee from Luis Anibal Calderon showcases all the fullness we love in natural processed coffees, and we are thankful for the collaboration with Elias Bayter to process such a great first taste of this variety in Colombia.
We taste: Black cherry, strawberry cake, date, lemon
Single-Origin Details:
- Farm/Producer: Villa Betulia
- Region: San Agustin, Huila
- Process: Natural Anaerobic
- Variety: SL-28
- Elevation: 1,350 -1,450 MASL
