Description

In Spring of 2023 we spent a week with the Villatoro Family in Huehuetenango, Guatemala tasting the newest lots of their coffees. It was an incredible experience to see every aspect of work that the family does in Hoja Blanca. Our partners at Onyx Coffee have been partnering with Aurelio Villatoro and his family for over 15 years bringing their coffees to the US, all well regarded for high quality, and award winning coffees. You may remember several we’ve brought in: El Diamante, La Garita, and Guayabales to name a few.

Punta del Cerro is the newest farm to come under the care of Aurelio Villatoro. It was the first farm we visited on the trip, and the coffees showed incredible cup quality. Punta del Cerro sits at an altitude of 1750 meters above sea level near Peña Roja town in La Libertad, and is planted in Bourbon and Caturra coffee cultivars. We even took a walk to a small little area to help Aurelio pick some gesha he has started to grow. We are excited to finally have Punta Del Cerro make a re-appearance on the menu, and it is tasting just as lovely as we remember.

This is a delicious washed coffee, and we hope you love it.

We taste: peanut brittle, nougat, cranberry, papaya,

Producer: Aurelio Villatoro
Region: Peña Roja, La Libertad, Huehuetenango
Process: Washed
Varieties: Bourbon, Caturra
Elevation: 1750 MASL
